Successful Short-Circuit Withstand Test Completed at CESI – KEMA Labs

Trafo Elettro CESI

TRAFO Elettro has recently successfully completed the short-circuit withstand test on a 15MVA 66 ± 10 x 1.0% / 21kV YNyn0 oil-immersed transformer. The test, conducted at the CESI – KEMA Labs facility in Milan, is a crucial step in ensuring the quality and durability of transformers. During the procedure, the transformer underwent a series of three-phase short-circuit tests, in compliance with IEC 60076-5, to verify its ability to withstand high electrodynamic stresses. ➤ What does the test involve? The short-circuit withstand test simulates the most critical fault condition by applying high-intensity currents to evaluate the structural resistance of the transformer. The objective is to ensure that the unit maintains its mechanical and electrical integrity over time, preventing failures or malfunctions during operation. ➤ A result that confirms construction excellence Successfully passing the test confirms the high design and manufacturing quality of TRAFO Elettro transformers, further proving their reliability under extreme conditions. This achievement underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions for the energy sector. A special thanks to CESI – KEMA Labs for their collaboration and to the entire TRAFO Elettro team for their dedication, which made this important milestone possible.

Trafo Elettro achieves ISO 45001 certification

Trafo Elettro achieves ISO 45001 certification: a new milestone for workplace safety Trafo Elettro has reached a significant milestone in its journey of growth and continuous improvement: the obtaining of the ISO 45001:2018 certification, the international standard for health and safety management systems. This recognition highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe working environment and aligned with the best practices in the industry. ISO 45001:2018 joins the existing ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management and ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management, consolidating an integrated QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) system that embraces all fundamental aspects for sustainability and operational excellence.   What is ISO 45001 certification? ISO 45001 is a standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) with the goal of helping companies prevent injuries and occupational diseases by continuously improving health and safety conditions in the workplace. It provides a framework for identifying, controlling, and reducing risks, ensuring compliance with current regulations, and promoting a company culture based on prevention and employee well-being. The certification is issued by accredited entities that, through in-depth audits, verify the company’s actual compliance with the required standards.   The Certification Process Obtaining ISO 45001 certification is the result of a rigorous evaluation process conducted by DNV, one of the most authoritative certification entities at an international level. The process began with a preliminary analysis of the company’s compliance with mandatory regulatory requirements, aimed at identifying any potential areas for improvement. This phase was carried out by an external entity which verified compliance with current legislation and applicable safety standards. Subsequently, an internal audit was conducted by the same entity. The analysis covered both compliance with legislative aspects and the effective application of the safety management system in company processes, allowing for the identification of any opportunities for improvement. Once this phase was completed, DNV performed the main audit, divided into two distinct moments. The first focused on verifying regulatory compliance, ensuring that the company met all legal requirements. The second focused on the evaluation of the safety management system, analysing the effectiveness of the measures adopted and their level of integration into daily activities. After passing both tests, the official ISO 45001:2018 certificate was issued, confirming Trafo Elettro’s commitment to protecting health and safety at work. To ensure the maintenance of standards and continuous improvement of the system, the company will undergo periodic surveillance visits. Additionally, the certification must be renewed every three years, confirming the continuous compliance with international requirements.   A commitment to employees and partners Workplace safety is not just a regulatory requirement but also a moral responsibility that Trafo Elettro assumes toward those who contribute to its growth every day. The company is committed to ensuring its employees a safe working environment where risk prevention and employee well-being are top priorities. This means constantly investing in training, listening to employee needs, and implementing measures that promote health and quality of working life. At the same time, Trafo Elettro sees safety as a fundamental value also for its customers and partners. ISO 45001 certification is the proof of a broader commitment—a promise of reliability and professionalism. Partnering with Trafo Elettro means choosing a company that places people’s well-being and the quality of production processes at the centre of its vision. This approach translates into safe and high-performance solutions, transparent management of activities, and strong relationships based on mutual trust.   A step towards the future Achieving ISO 45001 is not an endpoint but a crucial milestone in a broader process. Trafo Elettro will continue to invest in training, innovation and prevention to maintain its standards at the highest levels. The goal is clear: to be a benchmark in the industry not only for products quality but also for the protection of people and the working environment. This important result represents a further incentive to look forward with determination. The company is already focusing on new initiatives and developments that will further strengthen its growth and its commitment to excellence. In the coming months, more updates will confirm Trafo Elettro’s dedication to constantly evolve, facing the challenges of the future with determination.

Hydroelectric Power Plant

Hydroelectric Power Plant Trafo Elettro supplied n.2 oil immersed transformers 12MVA to a hydroelectric power plant near Ringerike municipality, Buskerud county, Norway. This power plant produces 115 GWh annually with a reduction of CO2 emissions of 74 tons. Transformers have the following technical characteristics: Power: 12000kVA Primary voltage volt: 22000 Secondary voltage at no load volt: 7400 Vector group: YNd5 Corrosivity category: C4-M Transformers have been subjected to all type tests, in particular the heating test, the case pressure test and measurement of permanent deformation, the frequency response test (SFRA) and the DIRANA test which analyses and determines the water content and the oil conductivity in different types of cellulose insulation. DIRANA uses dielectric frequency response (DFR) analysis in order to determine the condition of high-voltage insulation systems such as those in power transformers, bushings, cables and generators and connected to own software that automatically generates test plans based on the nameplate data. The measurement results obtained are automatically compared and evaluated according to international standards or customized limit values. The customer followed all routine and special tests remotely and he was satisfied with the seriousness and technical skills. Trafo Elettro invests daily in research and development using the latest generation equipment in order to guarantee a product of excellent quality.
